Atwater Band Staff

The Staff of the Atwater Band and Guard is committed to creating a positive, safe, competitive and fun environment for all members of the program. The Atwater Band is proud to have a staff that is involved in the field they teach and has achieved many accolades that lends to the success of this program.
2018-2019 Staff

Michael Flores
Director of Bands
Mr. Flores is a graduate of CSU, Stanislaus, earning degrees in both Music Education and Music Composition. As a performer, he has marched with the Sacramento Mandarins and the Sacramento Freelancers. Professionally, he has worked with various high schools and independent organizations over the last decade, including Merced High School, Beyer High School, James Logan High School, Mandarins, Blue Devils 'B' and Vanguard Winter Percussion. He is currently the President for CVGPC.

Armando Francisco
Colorguard Caption Head
Armando has been in the colorguard activity for 5 years and truly loves to see his kids improve. It's all about making sure the kids are having a good time and enjoy what they're doing. Armando marched with Imbue A in 2016, Paradigm Independent Winterguard in 2018 and is currently marching with the Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets 2018.

Carlos Alvarez
Front Ensemble Coordinator
Carlos is from Delhi, California. He studies Percussion Performance at CSU Stanislaus. Carlos has marched two seasons with the Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets, an open class Drum and Bugle corp that won the World Championship at Dayton, Ohio.

Fernando Barragan
Quad Tech
Fernando attended Merced High School and is currently attending CSU Stanislaus to study Music Education. He marched with the Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps in 2017 and Broken City Percussion in 2018 where he won the Bronze medal in both SCPA Championships and WGI World Championships. He is currently teaching at Atwater High School and Merced High School.

Miguel Rojas-Flores
Percussion Caption Head
Miguel Rojas-Flores is a Biology Major at UC Merced. Marching experience includes Impact Percussion 2015-2016, Bakersfield College Indoor 2017 and Golden Empire Drum and Bugle Corps 2017-2018. He also enjoys playing sick licks on the beach.

Adrian Perez
Front Ensemble Tech
Adrian Perez graduated from Central Valley High School. Adrian is currently attending CSU Stanislaus as a music major. In his time in high school he was a vibraphonist in his school's winter percussion and also marched vibraphone in Impact Independent Percussion.

Zack Robinson
Bass Tech
Zack Robinson attended Merced High School, his marching experience includes Bakersfield College Indoor 2018, a group that holds the title"#1 on the west coast", he is currently teaching at Atwater High School and El Capitan High School. "Remember they're just eighth notes."
